When I was a newbie all I knew was that I wanted to learn how to make jewelry, but I remember being lost and not knowing where to start. I didn’t want to spend money on books or magazines, so I went online trying to look for websites that would simply explain where to start… that website was nowhere to be found. They all had a beginner’s section, but it was so confusing because they were talking to me as if I already knew about the subject. So I made a promise to myself to carefully put together a simple –easy to follow- guide for beginners that will show step by step where to start without the confusing chaos of technical words and nonsense instructions.
I narrowed down this guide into only 4 steps simply because you can go into more detail as you go through each step.

- After you finish going through my jewelry making techniques page and seeing what each technique is about, then decide which one appeals to you the most and learn everything you can about it. Start learning with my free jewelry making tutorials or with beading magazines/books of jewelry classes.
- After learning your preferred technique, you can start creating amazing – one of a kind jewelry for yourself or others as a hobby or may be even as a business.
- When to learn another technique? You do not need to master a technique to start learning another one. Once you feel that you are bored or you just didn’t like it or you’ve learned enough; then you’re ready to start another technique.
This is all it takes to learn how to make jewelry. My advice is that you take your time in researching each technique as this is the most important step for all beginners; this will dictate your expertise and your future jewelry style. Again, don’t get lost with all the information available – patience will bring you great rewards.
